How to Join TORKS eGroups

The following information should help you be able to link/verify your email address to a Yahoo ID so you can have access to the TORKS eGroup web pages, which has all of the messages posted, some photos from events, and the current membership roster list. As a member of the eGroup you can upload files to the site too. Access to the eGroup is restricted to TORKS members, and an invitation is required to join. Contact Dave Pickenpaugh to receive an invitation.

So, if you have not been able to access the egroup web page, try the following. And then be sure to post any files and photos you think may be of interest to the other TORKS members. If you continue to have problems, please let me know.

Question: How do I use the Membership Wizard?

Answer: If you currently are receiving email from Groups but you cannot see the groups in your My Groups page, you'll need to "claim" them using our Membership Wizard. Although there are multiple steps involved in the process, the concept is simple -- all you need to do is:

1. Tell us which email address at which you're receiving email.
2. Tell us you'd like them to be tied to your Yahoo! ID
3. Choose a Profile for those memberships.

The Membership Wizard is designed to claim groups you joined via email (using the subscribe command) or to which you were directly added by a group owner. In addition, if you joined a Group via eGroups, this will make sure that you can now view them on Yahoo! Groups. That's all! You should see a confirmation screen letting you know the process is complete and your memberships have been claimed by the Membership Wizard.

Get started now by going to the Membership Wizard.

Question: What if I mess up the Membership Wizard process and link email subscriptions/memberships to the the wrong wrong Yahoo! ID?

Answer: No problem. Just sign in with the correct Yahoo! ID and go through the wizard process again.

Note: If you don't have a Yahoo! ID, you will be prompted to create one and then continue with the Membership Wizard.

When you join a Yahoo! Group, your membership is associated with a specific email address. If that email address isn't connected to the Yahoo! ID you use to access the group on the Web; is not verified; or is connected to more than one of your Yahoo! IDs, some of your group memberships may not be displayed on the My Groups page.

The Membership Wizard can help you locate your group memberships using the information listed in your Account Info.
